| 2010-02-26 Charlie Lavictoire receives honor from MPP Jean-Marc Lalonde |
As his team the Clarence Beavers were battling Ottawa West in game 3 of the Metro Semi-finals, Charlie Lavictoire was honoured under the “Celebration 2010 Community Sports Heroes” program. Charlie, along with 15 other volunteers, was honoured in Saint-Isidore for their tireless work with our youth.
Charlie has been at the helm of “Les Castors” since 1983. He has never spent one week in Florida, never taken up any winter hobbies, “Les Castors” have been his addiction. Helping young men stay on the right path has been his greatest joy.
Players such as Benoit Pouliot playing for Clarence at 16 and now playing for Charlie’s Habs, is one of many young men who have passed through the Clarence Jr B ranks. The attached article was taken from “LE DROIT” daily newspaper.
Congratulation Charlie...you are truly deserving, in this Olympic year, of the top step on the podium. |

You can read the story in The Ottawa Citizen
In an effort to raise some financial assistance for Rene's family, a Facebook page and a trust account has been established. |
